1. Paper titled, ‘Towards Ordinal Suicide Ideation Detection on Social Media’ by Ramit Sawhney, Harshit Joshi, Saumya Gandhi, and Dr. Rajiv Ratn SHAH from MIDAS-IIITD is accepted at the #WSDM2021, a Core A* conference on data mining (acceptance rate 18.6%). 

2. Our research on "Suicide Ideation Detection" is covered in the Times of India (TOI) newspaper.

3. We are thrilled to inform that our paper entitled"GPolS: A Contextual Graph-Based Language Model for Analyzing Parliamentary Debates and Political Cohesion” has been awarded the designation of an Outstanding Paper for COLING2020.Congratulations to authors: Ramit Sawhney, Arnav Wadhwa, Shivam Agarwal and Dr Rajiv Ratn SHAH for this amazing work.

1. Our research on detecting hate speech in Hinglish posts has been feathered in The Pioneer newspaper on 25th Dec 2019. It has published in The Pioneer's New Delhi, Lucknow, Bhopal, Bhubneshwar, Dehradun, Chandigarh, and Rachi editions.We will be presenting this work at the 34th AAAI conference in the Special Track on AI for Social Impact. The conference will be held in New York, 2020.Congratulations Ramit Sawhney Puneet Mathur Shivang Chopra and team MIDAS-IIITD 

2. We are super excited to inform you that our students, MANSI AGARWAL, and Maitree Leekha, have received ACM-W Scholarship Award to attend Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AAAI) 2020 conference in New York City, USA. Shivangi Singhal has also received ACM-India/IARCS Travel Grants to attend the AAAI 2020 conference.

3. MIDAS paper titled 'Keyphrase Extraction as Sequence Labeling using Contextualized Embeddings.' got selected at ECIR 2020 in collaboration with Bloomberg and NUS.

3. Our team won the first prize in ACM INDIA Chapters Technology Solution Contest - 2019. It was sponsored by ICERTIS. We were awarded Rs 65,000 for being the winner of this challenge.

3. MIDAS founder and collaborators, Rajiv Ratn Shah, Yifang Yin, and Roger Zimmermann published a full paper titled, “Learning and Fusing Multimodal Deep Features for Acoustic Scene Categorization”, in the ACM Multimedia 2018, a premier conference for multimedia research.

4. MIDAS students, Hitkul, Shivangi Singhal, and Himanshu Aggarwal, got selected for six months fully funded internship at National Institute of Informatics, Tokyo, Japan.

5. MIDAS student, Shivangi Singhal, got selected for the ACM India Grad Cohort 2018 which will be held in IIIT Bombay.

6. MIDAS intern, Hitkul, enrolled for PhD under the supervision of Prof Rajiv Ratn Shah and Prof PK at IIITD.

7. We made our paper titled, “ #phramacovigilance - Exploring Deep Learning Techniques for Identifying Mentions of Medication Intake from Twitter”, online on Arxiv to the research community.

8. MIDAS founder, Dr. Rajiv Ratn Shah, and collaborator, Dr. Debanjan Mahata, got their research paper, titled “Did you take the pill? – Detecting Personal Intake of Medicine from Twitter”, accepted in the special chapter of IEEE Intelligent Systems on Affective Computing and Sentiment Analysis.

9. MIDAS founder, Dr. Rajiv Ratn Shah, got selected for the Heidelberg Laureate Forum fellowship 2018 which will be held in Heidelberg, Germany.

10. Prof Rada Mihalcea from University of Michigan has delivered a keynote on “Multimodal Sensing of Human Behavior” in the MR2AMC workshop organized by MIDAS.

11. MIDAS founder, Dr. Rajiv Ratn Shah, organized MR2AMC workshop in conjunction with IEEE MIPR conference at Miami, Florida, USA.

12. Professor Shin’ichi Satoh and Prof Henri Angelino from the National Institute of Informatics (NII), Japan visited MIDAS@IIITD to sign MOU between NII and IIIT-Delhi to establish research collaboration between two institutes. MIDAS founder, Prof Rajiv Ratn Shah, is the contact person at IIIT-Delhi for this research collaboration.
